Top SEO Tactics to Stay Relevant

Google have passed through many changes, as we see. And in terms of these changes, it’s vital to keep up-to-dated in order to save or even increase the rankings of your site. The rules of the game have changed, and you should know and use them in order to make your site even more popular. SEO is not dead, it had changed, and here are some of the tactics that work in terms of these changes and can boost the rankings of you site.

1.    Social Media Matters. It’s definitely one of the main factors to influence the search results. The more likes, shares and re-tweets the post has, the higher it’ll be displayed in search results. It’s really impossible to get higher ranked for the content that is not shared socially.

2.    A new word in authorship. There’s something more about Google authorship than your headshot near the post title. It has become a major ranking factor, too, so it’s necessary to claim your authorship. Thus, Google will know where else your content can be found.

3.    Go mobile. The reports show that 40% of internet time is spent via mobile devices, and this percent will continue to grow. So, successful site promotion becomes impossible without proper mobile optimization. The neat thing is to make your layout simple and not overloaded with excessive content. Think about developing proper mobile apps. For the commercial mobile sites, you can do the following: add local stores promotions and driving directions, promotinal links, social media shares etc.

4.    Optimize the content with the working SEO tactics
a.    short and unique page titles
b.    adding description tags
c.    optimized site structure (links, page numbers, etc.)
d.    formatted text (unique content, subheadings, paragraphs, links, lists etc.)
e.    optimized images
f.     using nofollow links and many others.

5.    No more fake link building. Now you’ll have to be more careful with the links. Black hat link-building now tends to be seen as spam, and can damage your rankings significantly. Networking is the new era of link building, so concentrate your efforts on creating quality content and sharing it with others.

6.    Install the sitemap. It’s a key to getting your content indexed fast. The sitemap allows the search engines to find your content and index it successfully.

7.   Anchor text. Recently, there was a popular tactics to match anchor text to backlinks. Now Google sees this as unnatural links and identifies it as a way for manipulating the rankings. The best tactics, in contrary, is to diversify the anchor text and make the links look as natural as possible.

There’s a long list of actions which can get your site ranked higher. The only thing I’d like to add is don’t experiment with black hat SEO tactics! Even if you gain success at the beginning, you can end up totally blocked!

The Battle Of The Titans Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 v/s Sony Xperia Tablet Z

Samsung is the undisputed king of Android handsets in the market these days. Its Galaxy series of smartphones and tablets have almost filled the space and rightly so. It offers quality and provides value that only a few seem to replicate. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the newest addition to the Galaxy line- up and it is undoubtedly one of the best tablets around. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 price is approximated at Rs. 49,990. Tablet price, in general, can go from Rs. 2,499 to Rs. 49,990. But the million bucks question is: can Samsung’s latest addition beat Sony's much- hyped and water resistant Xperia Tablet Z? Here, we put them into a head- to- head battle. Let's find out the winner.

Design

Samsung, with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, has finally ditched the slippery plastic casing and this new tablet has faux leather back with fake stitching at the edges. It has raised patterns over it, which ensures a firm grip. It is thick at 8.9mm and feels a little heftier at 597g. When it comes to looks, Sony Xperia Tablet Z doesn't try too hard and there are no fancy bells and whistles around here. It is a simple black rectangular device. But hell, what an amazing rectangle it is! The front made from toughened glass which is scratch resistant and highly glossy. It is the thinnest tablet available in the market. You'll just start gushing about how amazingly thin this tablet is. It measures only 6.9mm (0.27 inches) and it weighs at only 495g.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has an LCD display. Yep, you read that correctly. A TFT one at that and the resolution is underwhelming at 1280 x 800 pixels. But it's still got a vibrant display with quite decent viewing angles. It just lacks the X-factor that we've come to expect from Samsung. On the other hand, Sony Xperia Tablet Z sports a full- HD display on the screen size of 10.1 inches. It gives a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels with a pixel density of 224 ppi. It is not the sharpest of displays but it still excels here with its intelligent screen processing technology.

Processors

The Samsung Galaxy Note10.1 is powered by 1.4 GHz quad core Exynos with 2GB RAM whereas Sony Xperia Tablet Z is powered by 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 + MDM9215M Quad Core with a standard 2GB RAM.

Interface and Performance

There is no Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It is just the heavily modified version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Overall, Samsung's Android overlay is impressive. It enables you to take on two things at once (the 2GB RAM takes care of all that) and there are some funky options that claim to make your life easier. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z sails on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. It is not the latest version, but the update is on the roll. Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a better download speed at 42Mbps whereas the Samsung Note has a download speed of 21Mbps.

Camera

You would look like a moron if you base your tablet- buying on the camera capabilities of the tablet. Using a camera on a 10 inch tablet would be out- and- about atrocious! Having said that, the camera on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is quite good which is a good 5- megapixels complete with an LED flash. And this camera is a marked improvement in the tablets. On the other hand, Sony Xperia Tablet Z has an 8.1 megapixels camera on the rear and it also has secondary camera of 2.2 megapixels. And the camera does a good job. But mind it, taking pictures on a tablet won' be a good idea.

Verdict

The signature Note from Samsung comes at a price tag that can actually make a hole in your pockets. At this price, it costs higher than what other brands like Apple, Microsoft and other manufacturers have to offer. If you don't find a stylus very important, then this premium tablet also won't be important to you. But if you prefer the feel of a stylus rather than the touch of the glass against your fingertips, then the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 might be the tablet you've been looking for.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z is one of the most beautiful devices out there, thanks to its design and weight. Also, there are features on Xperia Tablet Z that you won't find anywhere else such as waterproofing. It can connect to a PS3 controller which makes it a delight for all you gamers and makes it an ace “gaming device”.

Android App Development Tools

Android Development Tools (ADT) is a plugin which allows you to create Android apps for mobile phones. You can set up your Android projects, create an application UI, add packages for the Android Framework API, export signed and unsigned .apk files so you can distribute your apps, and debug your apps using the Android SDK tools.

Developing with ADT in the Eclipse IDE is the best way to develop apps. The various features of it, which includes tools integration and asimply guided project setup, should mean that developing apps is a much more manageable task.
The main functions are as follows:

  • It’s a full Java IDE. This means there is Android-specific refactoring, integrated navigation between Java and XML resources, analysis tools to understand performance and usability issues, support for more complicated projects, and a template-based wizard to set up simpler Android projects.
  • It has graphical UI builders. You can build detailed Android UI using drag and drop, see how your UI looks like on a variety of devices, switch themes and platform versions without building, and view editorial assistance to help with working with custom UI components.
  • It has on-device developer options. This enables you to debug over USB, capture bug reports onto a device, view CPU usage on screen, and getdetailed debugging information onscreen.
  • It allows you to develop on hardware devices. You can use any commercial Android device, or even multiple devices, transfer your app to connected devices directly from the IDE, and debug, test, and profile live on the device.
  • You can develop on virtual devices. You can also emulate advanced hardware such as cameras, sensors, and telephony. You can even develop and test for broad device compatibility.
  • It allows for powerful debugging. There is a full Java debugger which allows you to debug on-device and gives you access to Android-specific tools. There is a built-memory analysis function, as well as performance profiling and OpenGL ES tracing. You can use graphical tools to debug and optimise UI and view analysis of your app’s bandwidth use.
  • There’s a fully scriptable test environment. Here you can view integrated reports using standard test UI and create and run unit tests on physical devices or emulated ones.
  • C and C++ support is available. As well as support for compiling and packaging existing C and C++ code, there is also support for packaging multiple architectures in single binary for much broader compatibility.

What’s available in the Dev Tools app

The Dev Tools app is installed on all systems included with the SDK and is also usable with Android emulators. You’ll be able to more easily test and debug your Android apps.
It relies on a rangeof permissions which aren’t available for third parties. If you wanted to install Dev Tools on a real development device, you would need to build a system image for the device and sign the Dev Tools app with the same key as the system image.
The Dev Tools application has the following options:

  • Debug app. This lets you select the app you want to debug.
  • Wait for debugger. This blocks your app from loading until a debugger attaches to it.
  • Show screen updates. A pink rectangle will flash on any screens that are being redrawn.
  • Immediately destroy activities. This option will tell the system to destroy an activity the moment it’s stopped.
  • Show CPU usage. This will display CPU meters at the top of the screen which show CPU usage.
  • Show background. This option displays a background pattern when there aren’t any activity screens up.
